PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect weather information such as snow fall from one image. SOLUTION: A plurality of anisotropic image patterns are selected one by one and matched with the whole region of one sheet of image data input by an input section 11. Thus, slenderly and diagonally photographed snow fall in the image data is detected. Then, the direction and density of the snow fall are analyzed based on the type, frequency and the like of the matched image pattern.
