PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a conduit of an endoscope credibly using a washing brush by detecting insertion condition of the washing brush within the endoscope conduit easily and inexpensively. SOLUTION: An endoscope cleaning and disinfecting apparatus 1 has a configuration for detecting flow amount of cleaning solution within a discharge side connecting pipe 21 and a treatment instrument channel 55. Controlled by a control section 101, the endoscope cleaning and disinfecting apparatus detects existence information of a brush section 31 of the washing brush 30 within the discharge side connecting pipe 21 and the treatment instrument channel 55 and projecting information of the brush section 31 projected from the treatment instrument channel 55. The endoscope cleaning and disinfecting apparatus then controls a brush delivery mechanism 200 to advance or retreat the brush section 31 in accordance with insertion condition of the brush section 31 within the endoscope conduit determined on the basis of the existence information and the projecting information.
