PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor exhibiting good assemblability by eliminating the need for adjusting a gap using a shim. SOLUTION: A linear motor includes a linear motor body 40 (a stator 42 and a moving member 44), a linear guide 32, and a frame 30. A protrusion 303 for positioning a stator and a protrusion 305 for positioning a linear guide are formed integrally with the frame 30. A gap of a predetermined dimension is formed between the stator 42 and the moving member 44 by attaching the stator 42 and the linear guide 32 (the linear guide 32 to which the moving member 44 is fixed), respectively, to the frame 30 while the stator 42 is abutted to the protrusion 303 and a rail 321 is abutting on the protrusion 305.
