<p>The present invention relates to a novel salt of tegaserod, namely tegaserod pimelate,and to processes for the preparation thereof. The invention also relates to crystalline forms of the novel salt and to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the novel salt. Further, the invention relates to uses of said compositions to provide methods of treating patients suffering from gastrointestinal disorders.</p>
