PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel oil composition for a premixed compressed ignition type engine, capable of improving operability of the engine during cooling it down. SOLUTION: In the fuel oil composition for the premixed compressed ignition type engine, a sulfur content is≤10 mass ppm, a flush point is≥40°C, an initial distillation point is 130 to 180°C, the temperature of 90 vol.% distillation is≤300°C, the cetane number (CN) of whole distilled fractions is 40 to 65, the cetane number (ΔCN) of the distilled fractions from the initial distillation point to 240°C is≥40, and a research method octane number (RON) is≥16.
