SOLUTION: In the plasma type ignition device 1 that is equipped with an ignition plug 10 which is mounted on an internal combustion engine 40 and in which a discharge space 140 is installed between the center electrode 110 and a ground electrode 130, a power supply 20 for discharge to carry out application of a high voltage, and the power supply 30 for plasma energy supply to carry out supply of a large current, and that carries out ignition of the internal combustion engine by putting gas in the discharge space into a plasma state of high temperature and high pressure, the center electrode 110 is equipped with the center electrode discharge part 111, an electrode part 151 for high voltage which is connected to the center electrode discharge part 111 via a resistor 150 on the tip side and connected to the power supply 20 for discharge on the base end side, the electrode part 170 for the large current that is connected to the center electrode discharge part 111 and connected to the power supply 30 for plasma generation on the base end side, and an electrode part insulating part 160 to secure insulating characteristics of the electrode part 151 for high voltage and the electrode part 170 for the large current.
