PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device improved in preventing the installation of an electric motor which has a different specification in a gear box in the work for assembling an electric motor and a gear box, has a different shape according to the specification of a loading vehicle and can be adapted in any specification. SOLUTION: In this electric power steering device which has an electric motor and a gear box having a different shape according to the specification of a loading vehicle and in which parts for fastening the electric motor and the gear box for fixation have common pitch intervals so as to be fastened with each other in any specification, a protrusion is formed in a fitting surface of a gear box to which the electric motor is fitted, and when fitting an electric motor having a different specification to the gear box, a control unit installed in the electric motor interferes with the protrusion so as to prevent installation.
