PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a back curl to a thermal transfer recording sheet as a silver halide photography when recording is performed on the thermal transfer recording sheet in such a manner that a thermal transfer ink sheet and the thermal transfer recording sheet are brought into press-contact with each other and thermal energy of a thermal head is applied to the thermal transfer ink sheet from the rear face. SOLUTION: This thermal transfer recorder includes the thermal head 11, a platen roller 12, a capstan roller 13, and a pinch roller 14. A thermal transfer recording sheet 3 is fed to a portion where a thermal transfer ink sheet 2 and the thermal transfer recording sheet 3 are brought into press-contact with each other, under a condition that the thermal transfer recording sheet 3 is curved. A bending resistance (N) of the thermal transfer recording sheet 3 in the paper feeding direction is in a range of 120 mN to 200 mN in accordance with ISO 2493:1992. A lap angleθ1 of the capstan roller 13 and a lap angleθ2 of the platen roller 12 satisfy formulas: 15≤N/θ1≤100 (1) and 4≤N/θ2≤8 (2). COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
