<p>Disclosed is a surface-mount component, such as an electric connector, which is advantageous for size reduction and prevents solder rise without increasing cost. A connector (10) is provided with a first contact (20R) stored in a storing groove (11h) of a housing (11) composed of an insulating material. The first contact (20R) is provided with a base section (202) and a tine section (205) to be soldered to a printed wiring board. The storing groove (11h) is composed of a wide section (11h1) having a wide width and a narrow section (11h2) having a width narrower than that of the wide section (11h1). The wide section (11h1) and the narrow section (11h2) are arranged in this order from the side of the printed wiring board.</p> |
