<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular glass lifting and lowering device which can surely and easily attach a retainer to an inner panel, and a retainer which enables to achieve such operation of the vehicular glass lifting and lowering device. <P>SOLUTION: The retainer 15 for changing the moving locus of an endless belt 16 has a body 30, a circumference part 45, which is provided on a circular arc surface having the rotary center of this body 30 as its center and on which the belt is stretched for changing the moving locus of the belt, a pedestal part 36 and a hexagonal column part 35 to be a rotary center, and a first retaining part 37 and a second retaining part 41 arranged along the circular arc having rotary center as a center on the upper surface 31 of the body 30. A first concave part and a second concave part are provided at the positions to be positions of front end parts of the first and second retaining parts 37, 41 when the body 30 rotates clockwise, and these first and second concave parts respectively engage with the edge parts of a first hole and a second hole provided in the inner panel.
