PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of reduction in stability of a floating slider caused by stress of a waveguide when a semiconductor laser is disposed outside the slider and a light is guided to the floating slider by using the waveguide, and the problem of blocking of the movement of the slider by the waveguide when an actuator is disposed near the floating slider. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a waveguide 3 formed in a slider 5 having a light irradiation part 1 floated on a medium 6 to irradiate the medium with a light to guide a light to the light irradiation part, and a waveguide 10 for transmitting a light from a light source to the waveguide 3 in the slider.
