PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight micro aerial vehicle with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This micro aerial vehicle includes: a fuselage 1; a flapping power transmission mechanism 2 placed on the front portion of the fuselage 1; a flexible wing frame 3 driven by the flapping power transmission mechanism 2 for creating a flapping motion track in a figure-of-eight shape like flights of small natural fliers such as a hummingbird and mounted on the flapping power transmission mechanism 2; and an empennage 4 mounted on the tail portion of the fuselage 1. The flexible wing frame 3 is rotatably provided with a wing skin 32 made of parylene foil on a pair of front edge arm members 31 made of carbon fiber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
