<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly in which a bonded interface between a catalyst layer and a gas diffusion layer can be intensively heated and which is superior in bonding performance between the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer. <P>SOLUTION: This is the method of manufacturing a membrane-electrode assembly provided with a polymer electrolyte membrane and a pair of electrodes which pinch-hold the polymer electrolyte membrane and have a catalyst layer and a gas diffusion layer containing the polymer electrolyte. A laminate is formed by superposing the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer and an exothermic substance which generates heat by an external factor is arranged at the interface between the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer, and is pressurized in laminating direction of the laminate, and further, by heating the exothermic substance by an external factor, the catalyst layer and the gas diffusion layer are heated and press-bonded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
