<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular collision avoidance support system that recognizes an obstacle in an early stage by discriminating it from other bodies and speedily avoids it even when there are a number of bodies such as road structures at a circumference of the obstacle. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicular collision avoidance support system includes a body detecting means (radar device) which detects a body present at a periphery of the vehicle thereof when receiving a reflected light from the body successively m times and n times in total, and a collision possibility decision means of detecting the motion state of the vehicle thereof to predict a course of the vehicle thereof, recognizing a body in the course and deciding the possibility of a collision with the vehicle thereof when the body is present in the course, and performing a collision avoidance supporting operation to support the avoidance of the collision with the body when deciding that there is the possibility of the collision t times. The vehicular collision avoidance support system decides whether the device is in an environment wherein it is difficult to recognize an obstacle (S100) and decreases and correct m, n, and t to improve responsiveness of the body detecting means and collision possibility decision means when so (S102). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
