PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately obtain red and blue signals at pixel positions corresponding to red and blue colors of color filters by processing output signals of an irregular Bayer array. SOLUTION: A hue signal generating section 123 generates color difference signals R-G', B-G' using added signals R, B of red and blue colors among output signals of an irregular Bayer array and an in-phase green signal generated by similar addition processing based on a green signal G. A hue signal generating section 124 generates color difference signals r-G', b-G' at pixel positions corresponding to red and blue colors of color filters from the color difference signals R-G', B-G' through linear interpolation. An adder section 125 generates a red signal (r) and a blue signal (b) at pixel positions corresponding to red and blue colors of color filters using the color difference signals r-G', b-G' and a green signal (g), at a pixel position corresponding to red and blue colors of color filters, generated using based on the green signal G.
