PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of intuitively performing operation to rotate around a center of a circle while matching a direction of a background image and a direction of an image to be composited and operating image rotation and image transfer independently. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus has: a compositing means for compositing a background image with at least one object; an image display means for displaying a preview image for previewing the image composited by the compositing means; a dial type operation means for performing circular movement of the object displayed by the image display means; and a control means for performing control so that the object is circularly moved by the image display means while holding the direction of the background image and the direction of the object with a length from a central point of the composited image to the object as a radius in accordance with a rotation amount of the dial type operation means.
