PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating operation type electronic component for use in an input operation section of an electronic device used in a vehicle and an electronic device including it, the rotating operation type electronic component securely allowing the operation section to withdraw when an excessive load is applied to the operation section. SOLUTION: The length of a cylindrical section 21C of a bearing 21 is set to be a little long. A coupling section 22D is located at the upper end of an intermediate section 22B of a rotation shaft 22 and protrudes out of an internal hole 21A of the bearing 21. The coupling section 22D has a circular shape and is substantially flat. The coupling section 22D is formed to be thinner in the up-down direction toward the outer edge of the circular shape, and is coupled to the inner wall of the operation unit 22A. The thinnest part of the coupling section 22D is set to be positioned farther from the center of the rotation shaft 22 than the outer periphery of the cylindrical section 21C of the bearing 21.
