PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for storing a glass article, by which the appearance of a latent flaw can be suppressed; and to provide a method for manufacturing a lens glass material using the same. SOLUTION: In the method for storing a glass article in water, water containing one or more kinds of the same components as the glass components constituting the glass article is used as a storing solution.
