PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collector not causing malfunction of a water level detecting circuit even though electrostatic discharge occurs in electrodes for detecting a water level. SOLUTION: The dust collector has an inlet unit for sucking dust, a tank for storing dust, a filter unit arranged between a main motor base and the tank and for separating dust and air, an ON/Off switch 17 commanding operation/stop of the inlet unit, an ON/OFF switch detecting circuit (a control circuit) 18 having a means for bringing the inlet unit into operating condition when the ON/OFF switch 17 is under ON condition, and the water level detecting circuit 28 for bringing the inlet unit into stop condition when current flowing through a pair of electrodes 27a, 27b arranged in the lower portion of the filter unit. Capacitors 33, 34, 35 are connected between the pair of electrodes 27a, 27b, between the positive side electrode 27a and a positive power source exceeds a threshold value determined in advance, and between the negative side electrode 27b and a negative power source respectively.
