A bearing device for a wheel, in which rust-proof treatment is applied to a hub ring pilot section with high productivity and reliability. The bearing device has an outer member (1) having double-row rolling surfaces (3) formed on the inner periphery thereof, an inner member (2) having formed on the outer periphery thereof rolling surfaces (4) respectively opposed to the rolling surfaces (3), and double rows of rolling bodies (5) arranged between the opposed rolling surfaces (3, 4). Either the outer member (1) or the inner member (2) which is a rotating member has a hub ring (9) as a structural part thereof. The hub ring (9) has a wheel mounting hub flange (9a) and also has a hollow circular cylindrical pilot section (13) protruding from the vicinity of the root of the hub flange (9a) to the outboard side and guiding a brake rotor and a wheel which are mounted to the hub flange (9a). A coating layer (17) of ultraviolet curing paint is formed on the peripheral surface of the pilot section (13).
