PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve uniformity of film thickness of a pigment recording layer in a disk-shaped optical recording medium with the pigment recording layer, that is, to suppress spread of a coating liquid toward the inner circumferential side of the substrate, and to improve film thickness distribution in the vicinity of the end of the inner circumferential side of the recording layer.

SOLUTION: The optical recording medium is characterized in that an inner groove region composed of a predetermined groove or predetermined pits etc. is arranged on the side closer to the inner circumferential side than the position on which the coating liquid is dropped.
