PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that can improve the image quality of a motion image by restraining motion blur of a hold-type display device while restraining an increase in cost, and to provide an image display system. SOLUTION: A pixel value of a video signal is compensated for each pixel in a frame to be displayed by performing spatial HPF processing on the video signal according to the size of a motion vector of the video signal. An overshoot area and an undershoot area are combined to improve liquid crystal response, restricting motion blur. The problem of an increase in cost is avoided unlike conventional techniques, and motion blur is sufficiently restricted with respect to change in gradation in a non-halftone area.
