SEAL STRUCTURE

A seal structure having a thick abradable coating to enhance sealing ability. The seal structure has at least one fin (5) protruding in a ring shape from the peripheral surface of a rotating shaft (3) to extend in the axial direction (L). The seal structure further has a seal member (9) having an annular seal surface (19) which faces the fin (5) and also having an abradable layer (25) formed by thermal spraying of an abradable material on the seal surface (19). A tapered portion (21) inclined in the radial direction (K) is formed at an end in the axial direction (L) of the seal surface (19).
