Microemulsion pre-concentrate comprises an active agent with low solubility and a carrier medium contg.:(a) a hydrophilic phase contg. dimethylisosorbide (DMI) and/or a lower alkyl alkanoic ester;(b) a lipophilic phase, and(c) a surfactant. Also claimed are compsns. for enteral or parenteral admin. which comprise a macrolide and an acid.
