A method for obtaining a relative content of a community platform in a group of an immediate communication tool involves: obtaining a value of a group classification of an immediate communication tool, obtaining a value of a board classification of a community platform corresponding to the value of the group classification based on a pre-set relative relation between a value of the group classification and a value of the board classification of the community platform, obtaining and displaying the content in the board corresponding to the value of the board classification according to a pre-set rule. A device for obtaining a relative content of a community platform in a group of an immediate communication tool is also disclosed. The invention enables the user to know in time the content of the board of the community platform corresponding to the group where the user is, when the user uses the immediate communication tool. The invention enriches the discussion topic for the group user, and increases the activity of the group and improves the user experience at the same time.
