A communication device including: receiving means for receiving a data packet and reply packets that are transmitted from other terminals; reply packet transmitting means for, when the data packet is detected by the receiving means, transmitting, after a predetermined time period, a reply packet expressing results of detection of the data packet of the other terminal; transmission prohibited period setting means for, when the reply packets arc received by the receiving means, setting a transmission timing prohibited period of a data packet of the communication device on the basis of a reception timing of the reply packets that are received; and transmitting means for transmitting a data packet of the communication device, at a timing other than the transmission timing prohibited period set by the transmission prohibited period setting means.
