<p>A method of enabling improved soft noise power floor estimation in a code division multiple access wireless communication system, measuring (SO) samples of a received total wideband power, estimating (S1) a probability distribution for a first power quantity from the measured received total wideband power, estimating (S2) a mean power level for the first power quantity and adapting (S3) the width of the probability density function based on the estimated mean power level to enable computation of a probability density function of a noise floor measure that is a discretization on a grid.</p> |
