PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that although a recording and reproducing device for displaying on a display, a program title etc. obtained as a part of content information, or the recording and reproducing device with a display section capable of displaying only a predetermined Kanji (Chinese character) pattern are proposed so far, a device of a prior technology cannot automatically display title information on the display section by use of a character string including Kanji. SOLUTION: In order to effectively utilize newly obtainable information corresponding to an environment change enabling transmission of information including Kanji through digital broadcast or terrestrial analog broadcast, the recording and reproducing device with a program title display section includes a title display section capable of displaying title information including the program title.
