Device and method for contact-free energy and data transfer

The device (1) has a primary unit (2) with a control device (10) and a decay accelerator (14) for interrupting an energy transmission over a transformer coupling distance in energy transmission intervals. A secondary unit (3) has an interval detector (17) for detecting the intervals. The primary unit transmits data to the secondary unit by varying length of the intervals and/or length of energy transmission phase. The secondary unit has a central processing device (21) e.g. microcontroller, for transmitting the data to the primary unit over the coupling distance in the intervals. An independent claim is also included for a method for contactless transmission of energy and data between a primary unit and a secondary unit.
