PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw compressor for coping with a fluctuation of used air quantity, and thereby expanding usage while providing energy saving effect. SOLUTION: The screw compressor is provided with a pressure sensor 9 detecting delivery pressure of a compressor body 2 and changes over operations between full load operation and no load operation according to delivery pressure detected by the pressure sensor 9. The screw compressor is also provided with a control device 5 operating the used air quantity Qs from change rate of delivery pressure detected by the pressure sensor 9, calculating second pressure lossΔP2 in a delivery pipe system 4, for example from an air tank 10 to a terminal part 4a, based on the calculated used air quantity Qs, operating terminal pressure of the delivery pipe system 4, and controlling change over between full load operation and no load operation of the compressor body 2 so as to keep the calculated terminal pressure of the delivery pipe system 4 in a set range.
