PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely capture and return lubricating oil splashing upward from a top end of an upper bearing to a lower part of a compressor casing. SOLUTION: This rotary compressor has the compressor casing, a compression part arranged in the lower part of the compressor casing, sucking a refrigerant from the low pressure side of a refrigerating cycle and discharging the refrigerant to the high pressure side of the refrigerating cycle from a discharge part by passing through the inside of the compressor casing, a motor arranged in an upper part of the compressor casing and driving the compression part via a rotary shaft, an upper muffler cover for covering a discharge valve of the compression part, and an oil feeding mechanism arranged in an oil feeding vertical hole of the rotary shaft and supplying lubricating oil stored in the lower part of the compressor casing to a sliding part of the compression part. The upper muffler cover has a cylindrical drain oil cover extending upward with a clearance in a space with an outer peripheral part of an upper bearing, covering the top end of the upper bearing part and capturing drain oil drained from the top end. A base of the drain oil cover is brought into close contact with the outer peripheral part of the upper bearing, and the top end of a drain oil pipe is installed in the drain oil cover, and the bottom end is made to face an outer peripheral through-hole.
