A near field RF communicator comprises an inductive coupler and a rectifier comprising an active rectifying element and a control signal to control the active rectifying element. The rectifier has four arms each comprising an active rectifying element 304, 305, 306, 307 and a comparator 309the output of which controls the third and fourth active rectifier elements. The active rectifier elements preferably comprise NMOS, PMOS or CMOS transistors with a diode 302, 303 connected between the source and drain to provide a passive mode of operation. The comparator preferably comprises a current comparator comprising two or more current mirrors. |
