An apparatus for detecting feces and urine of a diaper using a capacitance sensor is excellent in the detection performance of feces and urine, can be used repetitiously without contamination due to excretions, and is simply used without misoperation due to the surrounding environment. An apparatus for detecting feces and urine of a diaper using a capacitance sensor comprises a detection part, an output part, a power supply part, and a control part. The detection includes a capacitance sensor contactlessly sensing the variation of capacitance due to the urine absorbed into a diaper. The output part operates if there is a detection signal from the detection part. The power supply part supplies energy necessary to the operation of the detection part and output part. The control part is electrically connected to the detection part, output part and power supply part and controls the operating relationship of the respective parts.
