The plug has a plug housing (2) made of plastic, and plastic-coated electrical contacts (3) and a connecting flange (4) provided in the housing. The electrical contacts and the connecting flange lie open at housing sides (2a, 2b). The housing, the electrical contacts and the connecting flange are sealed against each other by a hardened sealing or adhesive compound (6) e.g. silicone adhesive, perfluoropolyether-gel or silicone-gel, which is provided at the housing sides around the electrical contacts and the connecting flange in an annulated manner. An independent claim is also included for sealing an electrical plug with a plug housing.
