Assembly of a surgical microscope and a display unit

The assembly has a surgical microscope (11) including an eyepiece lens (15), and a display unit (17) including a screen (18) i.e. touch screen. The display unit is designed to receive external information e.g. text, from a computer (20) and to display the information on the screen. The screen is arranged at a horizontal distance (d) to a vertical axis (9) extending by the eyepiece lens, where the distance is not larger than 30 centimeters. The screen is arranged above the lens. The display unit is fastened to a suspension (12) of the microscope. A control panel is integrated in the screen.
