A terminal and a control method thereof are provided to enable a terminal user to execute a desired menu through the minimum terminal manipulation. A terminal comprises a user input unit, a display unit and a controller. The controller controls a menu which coincides with a character inputted through the user input unit among a plurality of menus, so as to be executed and be set up in advance. A control method of the terminal comprises the following steps. A character is inputted(S53) and the menu corresponding to the inputted character is performed.
