A thin film transistor display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase the response speed by reducing the resistance of a signal line. A light-shielding member(220) is formed on a substrate and includes the first furrow and a receiving part. A gate line(121) is positioned in the first furrow and includes an upper film and a lower film. The upper film comprises the copper. A semiconductor layer(154) is positioned on the gate line. A data line(171) and a drain electrode(175) are positioned on the semiconductor layer. A pixel electrode(191) is connected to the drain electrode.
