FIELD: engines and pumps. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention deals with a method (and a corresponding system) designed to provide for reduced fuel consumption by diesel engine (300) when operating at capacities below its full capacity; the proposed method is as follows: one adjusts viscosity of the lubrication system oil (301) as supplied from the engine (300) which results in production of modified lubrication system oil (301'); the viscosity adjustment is aimed at improvement of the engine (300) mechanical efficiency due to the modified lubrication system oil (301') supply into the engine (300), the adjustment based on at least a single parametre representing engine (300) actual load and viscosity parametre of lubrication system oil (301). ^ EFFECT: proposed solution provides for reduced fuel consumption of a diesel engine combined with the diesel engine exhaust emission amount. ^ 40 cl, 1 dwg |
