METHOD OF ENCODING DATA UNIT USING DIFFERENT CRC ALGORITHMS

A method for encoding a data unit using a plurality of CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) algorithms is provided to reduce overheads of MAC PDU(Medium Access Control Protocol Data Unit) included in RACH(Random Access Channel) MSG 3 and to enhance data transmission efficiency by applying different CRC algorithms according to kinds of data included in the RACH MSG 3. A data receiving process is performed to receive one or more data from an upper layer. An error-checking function selection process is performed to select one error-checking function from the error-checking functions. The error-checking functions are composed by using the received data. A data process is performed to process the received data by using the selected error-checking function. A data transmission process is performed to transmit the processed data. The upper layer is a MAC(Medium Access Control) layer or a RLC(Radio Link Control) layer.
