FIELD: protection equipment. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to an irretrievable linear thermal sensor, which signals short circuiting due to damage. The said sensor contains a fire detecting cable which has at least two fire detecting conductors, installed in parallel, and a fusible insulating layer, a resistor, and a device for measuring resistance. The fire detecting cable also contains a semiconductor layer. The semiconductor layer and the fusible insulation layer are placed between the fire detecting conductors. As a result, a gap is formed between the fire detecting conductors. The sensor can have a cover outside the fire detecting cable. The fire detecting cable contains a conducting layer, which lies between the semiconductor layer and the fusible insulating layer.
