FRICTION WELDING PROCESS OF TWO-STROKE DIESEL ENGINE TURBOCHARGER ROTOR SHAFT

A friction welding method of a turbo charger rotor shaft for a large diesel engine is provided to product the turbo charger rotor shaft for the large engine by welding a disc whose diameter is 400~700 mm and the shaft. A friction welding method of a turbo charger rotor shaft for a large diesel engine comprises: a step of forming a disc with a die forging mold(S100); a step of forming a rotor shaft by unitizing a shaft to the disc by the friction welding(S200); and a step of heat-treating the rotor shaft integrated with the friction welding. The friction welding step is consisting of a first and second welding step. The first welding step performs the friction welding of the disc and the shaft by giving the friction pressure of 125~145 bar to the shaft in order to have the up-set distance of 1.5~2.0 mm. The second welding step welds adamantly the shaft and the disc by forcing the shaft into the dice direction for 75~85 seconds at the forging pressure of 155~175 bar.
