A power supply module and a backlight assembly having the same are provided to reduce the number of components and improve the electrical stability. A power converting part(20) converts the basis power supplied from the outside into the available power. A capacitor(30) comprises a plurality of first electrodes and a plurality of second electrodes. The first electrodes are arranged in the first side of a substrate and are connected to a power output line of the power converting part. The second electrodes are arranged on the substrate so as to correspond between first electrodes. The second electrodes are separated in a direction parallel to the first side from the first electrodes. The capacitor forms the ballast electrical capacitance for stabilizing the available power.
