POLARIZING PLATE WITH IMPROVED DICHROIC RATIO AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING THE SAME

A polarizer in which the dichroic ratio is improved and a liquid crystal display device including the same are provided to realize the high degree of polarization. A polarizing film(23) comprises the aligned liquid crystals and at least one kind of dichroic dye. The dichroic dye is dispersed between the liquid crystals. The dichroic dye is aligned in the same direction as the liquid crystals. The dichroic ratio of the polarizing film is 40 or greater. The solubility of the dichroic dye in the liquid crystals is 15 percentages in higher temperature than the transition temperature of the liquid crystals to an isotropic liquid crystal phase as much as 10 centigrade.
