SYNTESIS OF TITANIUM DIOXIDE BY AGING AND PEPTIZATION METHODS FOR PHOTO-ELECTRODE OF DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELLS

A method for synthesizing titanium dioxide for a photoelectrode of dye-sensitized solar cells through aging and peptization is provided to improve surface properties, dispersion index and optical permeability. A method for synthesizing titanium dioxide comprises the following steps of: adding water to a metal alkoxide compound in order to induce hydrolysis and a condensation reaction; aging the reactant; and peptizing the aged reactant. The metal alkoxide compound is selected from the group consisting of titanium tetraisopropoxide, titanium tetrachloride, titanium nitrate and titanium sulfate.
