ETHER-SUBSTITUTED IMIDAZOLIUM TYPE ZWITTERION AND ELECTROLYTE FOR LITHIUM BATTERY COMPRISING THE SAME

An imidazolium-based amphoteric ion, its preparation method, and an electrolyte composition for a lithium secondary battery are provided to improve electrochemical stability and charge/discharge performance compared with the already-existing imidazolium-based amphoteric ion. An imidazolium-based amphoteric ion is represented by the formula 1, wherein n is 3 or 4; m is 1 or 2; and R1 and R2 are independently a C1-C6 alkyl group or a C1-C6 alkenyl group. An electrolyte composition for a lithium secondary battery comprises the imidazolium-based amphoteric ion of the formula 1; a lithium salt; and an organic solvent.
