The method involves placing six embossing tools (106) close to a displacement device e.g. manipulator-type robot (2), and processing a component of a motor vehicle by the embossing tools. The component is transferred to the embossing tools or from the embossing tools by the displacement device through a gripping antenna (18), which is arranged on the tool. The gripping antenna is withdrawn from the tool, and the gripping antenna is placed on the displacement device.
