A METHOD OF ASIATICOSIDE PRODUCTION FROM CENTELLA ASIATICA (L.) URBAN HAIRY ROOTS

A method for producing an asiaticoside from a hairy root in which the asisaticoside is not synthesized is provided to easily induce the Centalla asiatica (L.) Urban hairy root using Agrobacterium and produce the high content of asiaticoside treating with methyl jasmonate. A method for inducing a Centella asiatica (L.) Urban hairy root comprises: a step of culturing in 1/2 MS(Murashige and Skoog) solid medium containing antibiotics for seven to fourteen days; and a step of sub-culturing in the 1/2 MS solid medium to induce transformant of the hairy root. A method for producing an aiaticoside from a Centella asiatica (L.) Urban hairy root comprises: a step of inducing to obtain transformed Centella asiatica (L.) Urban hairy root; and a step of treating an attracting agent to increase the content of asiaticoside. The attracting agent is methyl jasmonate, hydroxylehyl jasmonate, yeast extract, chitosan, auxin, or cytokinine.
