A method and a device for testing the discharge stability is provided to take a test about the discharge stability to a number of ink samples for short time and to prevent the damage to ink jet equipment in advance. The discharge stability is determined according to the weight variation of the standard volatilization solution based on the weight variation of the measured ink(S104).
