A user terminal for performing a protection function and a method thereof are provided to prevent another person from using a user terminal without request of a special operation. A user terminal(100) performing a security function is composed an Input sensor(110), an information collecting part(120), and a security control part(130). The input sensor sense the user input at the user terminal device, and the information collecting part collects the information showing the transition of the determined state and the state determined based on the user input. The security controller determines whether usage is reasonable or not based on the collected information and controls the security function of the device.
