PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fluorene skeleton-containing epoxy compound decreasing melt viscosity even having the fluorene skeleton. SOLUTION: This epoxy compound is a compound expressed by formula (1) [wherein, R1is cyano or the like; R2is a propylene group or the like; R3is H or methyl; R4is an alkyl (such as methyl or the like) or an aryl (such as phenyl or the like); (k) is an integer of 0 to 4; and (m) is an integer of≥1].
